This week was the first week back after Christmas.
Jo has explained to us that we will be attempting to create an animation that 'shows a feature of the british seaside that is evocative of Britain'.
I understand that this means a feature that people think of when they think of the traditional british seaside i.e Beach huts, piers, arcades, ice cream, fish and chips etc.
To create this animation, we will be using 3Dsmax. A very advanced 3d modelling and animation package that has almost unlimited scope for the creation and animation of any object.
However, this is the first time that I have used 3Dsmax so I imagine the learning curve will probably be quite steep. Many of the other students have already used the package to create 3d models so they are familiar with the basic functions and tools of the programme. This isn't to say that I am not looking forward to learning how 3Dsmax works and gaining valuble knowledge and experience in the 3D design and animation field.
